Isolation Forest-based Anomaly Detection of Vessels using AIS Data

Our approach uses an unsupervised Isolation Forest model to automatically detect anomalous vessel behavior from large-scale AIS data, overcoming the challenges of complexity and high transmission volume. A novel feature-extraction framework transforms raw AIS fields into meaningful attributes, enabling effective anomaly detection while significantly reducing the number of instances requiring human attention.
